Emily Malott is a painter, muralist, and illustrator based in Cincinnati, OH. Emily received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Northern Kentucky University, and teaches art to adults in Dayton, OH. Emily has executed murals in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky neighborhoods, and has exhibited her work throughout the United States as well as internationally. Emily values exploration as a part of her artistic practice, and attended an artist residency in Iceland in 2023.

Growing up, Emily was glued to the television. Watching cartoons like the Powerpuff Girls and the Simpsons, Emily was mesmerized by the bright colors and bold lines, and would often draw her favorite characters. Today, Emily combines the comfort that comes with these nostalgic colors and shapes, with a soft, blended quality to her works that enhances the dream like state. The characters and figures that find themselves in Emily’s work exist in a space between, somewhere that is here but also nowhere. Merging both modern and nostalgic imagery, Emily invites viewers into her whimsical world.
